Here to make you smile

General Dentistry

  • Fillings are a way to restore a tooth damaged by decay back to its normal function and shape. At Dental Care Associates we offer tooth-colored fillings made from durable composite materials. These fillings help your teeth both aesthetically and functionally, so you can enjoy a stronger, more beautiful smile.

  • Dental crowns cover the entire surface of the tooth. When a crown is necessary to restore tooth structure, high quality materials can create a durable, natural-looking result. A tooth fitted with a custom dental crown will be better protected from further deterioration, preserving its place and function in the mouth for years to come.

    CEREC® Same Day Crowns

The dentists at Dental Care Associates have invested in the training and technology to provide our patients with CEREC® one-visit crowns. This dental CAD-CAM system uses 3D imaging to design and produce your beautiful dental crown while you wait.

  • If one or more teeth are missing, a dental bridge can be used to preserve that space in the mouth and restore bite and function. A bridge is anchored on each end by attaching to existing healthy teeth or dental implants and can support single or multiple crowns.

  • Dentures can be designed to replace multiple missing teeth or all the natural teeth in an arch. A removable partial denture typically has a metal or acrylic base structure that clasps securely to natural teeth, preserving the space left by missing teeth. A complete denture replaces all the teeth in an upper or lower arch. In most cases, extraction of remaining teeth to replace them with a full set of complete dentures is the last option considered. We recommend stabilizing dentures with dental implants whenever possible.

  • Most adults develop third molars (also known as wisdom teeth) in their teenage years. These teeth are generally not functional for biting or chewing and they are often awkwardly positioned, making them difficult to keep clean. Your dentist may recommend that the wisdom teeth be removed to prevent bacteria from accumulating, causing tooth decay or infection, which could harm other teeth.

  • Teeth have an internal pulp chamber with a blood supply and nerve. When the nerve of a tooth becomes infected by dental disease, deep decay or trauma, pain and swelling can occur. During a root canal procedure, a small opening is made in the tooth so that the infected tissue and nerve can be carefully removed; then root pulp chamber is cleaned and sealed. Teeth that have had root canal therapy lose vitality, making the enamel more susceptible to cracks and breakage. The procedure is finalized with placement of a dental crown to protect it from further damage.

  • Creating a positive dental experience for your child is an important part of helping them develop healthy habits as they grow up. We recommend that children over 3 years of age be seen in our office for routine dental cleanings and preventive care twice a year. At each visit, we will pace our approach so their time with us fun and interesting! Your child's dental examination may include a review of current digital dental x-rays as needed to give you an assessment of their oral health. We may recommend dental sealants and fluoride treatments for your child to provide additional protection against tooth decay. Exam includes an intraoral exam and possibly x-rays. We will also get them scheduled for routine cleanings

Sedation & Implants

Oral Sedation

Our practice offers oral conscious sedation for patients in need of extensive treatment, or those who experience a high level of anxiety related to dental visits. Dr. Crummey is a member of DOCS, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation™, and has received training in dental oral conscious sedation protocols. Sedation dentistry can allow patients to receive the care they need in fewer appointments, while in a fully relaxed state.

Implants

Dental implants are a remarkable advancement in dentistry. These tiny, cylinder-shaped devices made of surgical titanium are inserted into the tooth socket to replace the function of a tooth root. Once in place, the dental implant is restored with a crown, bridge or denture to bring function and a natural-looking appearance back to your smile. Dental implants may be used to replace one or more missing teeth without affecting adjacent teeth. Denture wearers can also benefit from dental implants with appliances that snap into place, allowing them to chew and laugh with confidence.
